We maintain two privacy policies: one for this website, and one for the MoJin inspection application used by authorized inspectors in the field. Choose a tab below.

MoJin Solutions, LLC ("MoJin Solutions," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through this website, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
Information you provide to us. When you submit a form on our site — such as a consultation request or a job application — we collect the information you choose to provide. This may include your name, email address, phone number, organization or community, role or title, your area of interest or message, and, for job applications, your resume and cover letter.
Information collected automatically. When you visit our website, we and our analytics provider automatically collect certain technical information, such as your device and browser type, pages viewed, referring pages, and general location (derived from your IP address). We collect this through cookies and similar technologies (see "Cookies and analytics" below).
How we use your information
- Respond to your inquiries and consultation requests;
- Review and process job applications and communicate with applicants;
- Operate, maintain, and improve our website;
- Protect our website and users against spam, fraud, and abuse;
- Comply with legal obligations.
How we share your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:
- With trusted service providers who help us operate our website and process submissions — such as hosting, data storage, email delivery, security, and analytics providers — who are authorized to use your information only to provide those services to us and are bound to protect it;
- When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of MoJin Solutions, our clients, or others;
- In connection with a business transaction, such as a merger or acquisition.
Cookies and analytics
We use a web analytics service to understand how visitors use our site so we can improve it. It uses cookies and collects usage information as described above. You can control or clear cookies through your browser settings, and most browsers let you limit or block them. Our forms also use an automated-abuse prevention service to distinguish human visitors from bots, which may collect limited technical information for that purpose.
Data security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information. Form submissions are transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS) connections, uploaded files are limited to common document types and scanned for malware, and application materials are stored in access-controlled systems available only to authorized personnel. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Data retention
We retain the information you submit for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy — for example, to respond to your inquiry or to consider and document a job application — and as required by applicable law, after which we delete or de-identify it.
Your choices and rights
You may request to access, correct, or delete the personal information you have submitted to us through our contact form. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws. We will respond to requests consistent with applicable law.
Children's privacy
Our website is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please let us know through our contact form and we will delete it.
Links to other sites
Our website may link to third-party websites we do not control. This policy does not apply to those sites, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected on this page.

1. Who we are and what this policy covers
MoJin Municipality (the "App") is published by MoJin Solutions, LLC ("MoJin," "we," "us"), a Massachusetts limited liability company. This policy explains what information the App collects, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and how you can ask us to delete it.
This policy covers the mobile app only. Information you provide to MoJin through this website, our web portals, or a services agreement with your municipality is governed separately — see the "Website" tab above.
The App is a professional tool. It is available only to health inspectors and staff who have been issued credentials by MoJin or by a municipal health department that contracts with MoJin. There is no public sign-up, and the App cannot be used without an account issued to you.
2. The short version
- We collect the information needed to run inspections and attribute them to the inspector who performed them. Nothing else.
- We do not sell your information. We do not share it with data brokers.
- We do not use it for advertising, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites. The App contains no advertising identifier and no advertising software.
- We share information only with the service providers that make the App work, and only so they can provide that service to us.
- You can ask us what we hold about you and ask us to delete it. Some inspection records are public records and must be retained; section 9 explains where the limits are.
3. Information we collect
"Collect" here means information that leaves your device. Information the App only processes on your device — for example a draft inspection you have not yet synchronized — is not covered by this section until it is transmitted.
Information about you, the App user.
- Your name — from the work account you sign in with, used to attribute each inspection to the inspector who performed it.
- Your work email address — from the work account you sign in with. It is your account identifier.
- Your user ID — assigned by our systems when your account is created, used to link your records and control what you can see.
- A device identifier — generated on your device by the mapping software in the App, used to operate and troubleshoot the map features. It is not the advertising identifier, and it cannot be used to identify you across other companies' apps.
Information you enter or capture during an inspection.
- Photographs you take or select to document conditions at an establishment.
- Written findings and notes you type into inspection forms.
- Audio notes, where your department has enabled voice notes.
- Signatures captured on the device as part of an inspection.
- Information about the establishment being inspected, including its name, address, operating details and inspection history.
Inspection forms may also record the name, telephone number and address of an establishment's owner or person in charge, where that information is needed to conduct or follow up an inspection.
Location. Where your department has enabled it, the App records the location of the device when an inspection is performed, so that inspections can be shown on a map and matched to the correct establishment. Location is collected only while you are using the App for this purpose. You can withdraw location permission at any time in your device settings; some map features will stop working if you do.
Technical information. The App and the software components inside it generate limited technical information — diagnostic and usage data about how the software itself is performing. This is used to keep the App working and is not linked to your identity.
4. Information we do not collect
Being explicit is worthwhile here, because the App requests some device permissions that it does not use in this deployment. We do not collect your contacts, your calendar, your reminders, your health or fitness data, your financial information, your browsing or search history, or any biometric data. Face ID, where you use it, is handled entirely by your device — Apple never shares your biometric data with us and we never receive it.
5. Why we use your information
We use the information described above for a single category of purpose: operating the App and the inspection service it supports. Specifically, to authenticate you, to record and store inspections, to produce inspection reports, to synchronize your work with our systems, to keep the software secure and functioning, and to provide support when you ask for it.
We also use the limited technical information described in section 3 to understand how the software is performing so we can fix problems.
We do not use your information for advertising, marketing, profiling, or automated decision-making, and we do not sell it.
6. Device permissions the App asks for
Your device will ask your permission before the App can use certain features. You can grant or withdraw any of these at any time in your device settings. Withdrawing a permission will disable the related feature but will not otherwise prevent you from using the App.
- Camera — photographing conditions at an establishment, and scanning barcodes or QR codes.
- Photo Library — attaching an existing photograph to an inspection.
- Microphone — recording a voice note during an inspection, where your department has enabled it.
- Face ID — signing back in quickly. Handled entirely on your device.
- Location — showing establishments on a map and recording where an inspection took place.
7. Who we share information with
We share information only with the service providers necessary to operate the App, and only so that they can provide their service to us. We do not share information with advertisers, data brokers, or any third party for their own purposes, and we do not sell information.
Those providers fall into a small number of categories: identity and authentication services that verify your sign-in, cloud infrastructure that stores inspection records, and mapping services that display establishment locations. We require these providers by contract to protect information they receive from us to a standard equal to or greater than the protections described in this policy, to use it only to provide their service to us, and not to sell it or use it for their own purposes.
We may also disclose information where we are legally required to — in response to a lawful request from a government body or a court, to comply with public records law, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
Municipal health departments. Inspection records created in the App are made available to the municipal health department the inspection was performed for. That department may be subject to its own public records and retention obligations, which operate independently of this policy.
8. Public records
Food establishment inspection records held by a Massachusetts municipality are generallypublic records under state law. Once an inspection is provided to a health department, that department may be required to disclose it on request, and we cannot override that obligation. This is a normal feature of public health inspection work, and it applies to the substance of inspections rather than to your personal account information.
9. How long we keep information, and how to have it deleted
Inspection records. Inspection records, including photographs and written findings, are retained according to the retention schedule that applies to the municipal health department the inspection was performed for. We do not delete inspection records on individual request, because they are official records of that department's regulatory activity and are frequently subject to public records obligations.
Technical information. Diagnostic and usage data is retained only as long as needed to diagnose and fix problems, and is not linked to your identity.
Making a request. You may ask us at any time to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it if it is wrong, or to delete it. Write tosupport@mojinsolutions.com. We will confirm your identity before acting, and we will tell you plainly if any part of your request is one we cannot fulfil and why.
You may withdraw any device permission at any time in your device settings, as described in section 6. Because accounts are issued by your employer or health department rather than created in the App, account closure is arranged through your department administrator or by writing tosupport@mojinsolutions.com.
10. How we protect information
Information travels between the App and our systems over encrypted connections. Inspection data is stored in a cloud environment that MoJin operates, protected by access controls that limit each user to the records their role and their municipality permit. Access is authenticated through your organization's work account, with multi-factor authentication where your organization requires it. We maintain a written information security program consistent with Massachusetts regulation 201 CMR 17.00.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affecting your personal information occurs, we will notify you and the appropriate authorities as required by law.
11. Children
The App is a professional tool for credentialed inspectors and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.
12. Where information is held
Information collected through the App is stored and processed in the United States. The App is offered only in the United States.
13. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the "Last updated" date above. If a change materially affects how we handle your information, we will give notice through the App or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use the App after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
