$23.00–$33.00+/hr depending on experience, plus a quarterly bonus
MoJin Solutions™ is expanding, and we're developing new inspectors. As a Food Safety Health Inspector, you'll conduct regulatory food safety inspections across a wide range of establishments — restaurants, grocery and convenience stores, schools, food trucks, temporary events, corporate cafeterias, and anywhere requiring a retail food permit — with a clear path to grow into a managerial role.
You'll be part of a growing team protecting public health, working directly with establishment owners, managers, and staff to observe and document food safety in accordance with FDA and Massachusetts standards, and collaborating with health department and government officials.

What you'll do
Conduct risk-based food safety inspections of food service establishments and produce legally defensible reports in accordance with the FDA Food Code and 105 CMR 590.000
Assess the degree of Active Managerial Control (AMC) operators maintain over foodborne-illness risk factors, and provide actionable guidance
Investigate consumer complaints regarding food safety and health-code violations; document findings and recommend corrective action
Interpret and apply food code provisions accurately and consistently; advise operators and junior staff on compliance pathways
Review food handling, storage practices, and facility conditions against state and federal food safety standards
Collaborate with health department officials, management, and team members on public-health concerns and program improvements
Manage assigned inspection schedules and travel efficiently within your municipalities
Stay current with regulatory changes, emerging food safety issues, and best practices
Contribute to internal process improvements, including technology-enabled workflows and documentation tools
What you bring
Minimum 2–3 years of hands-on experience in food safety, food service management, or a related regulatory or compliance field
Working knowledge of the FDA Food Code and/or Massachusetts 105 CMR 590.000 — or the demonstrated ability to quickly learn and apply regulatory standards
Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
Excellent written and verbal communication, including explaining regulatory requirements clearly to operators and staff
Ability to work independently in the field while contributing effectively as part of a team
Proficiency with computer tools including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and web-based applications
Ability to navigate high-pressure situations professionally, respectfully, and with sound judgment
Exceptional time management, organization, and situational awareness
Strong integrity and a commitment to consistent, fair enforcement
Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance
Must pass a background check and substance screening
Nice to have
Associate's degree or higher in Environmental Health, Food Science, Public Health, Biology, or a related field — or an equivalent combination of education and verifiable food-safety experience
Certified Professional – Food Safety (CP-FS) or Registered Sanitarian (RS) credential
Prior experience with food safety audits/inspections and/or the food code
Demonstrated ability to mentor peers or train others in food safety practices
Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Portuguese) a plus

Working conditions & physical requirements
Primarily field-based — most time is spent conducting inspections and investigations at establishments across your assigned municipalities
A flexible schedule may be required at times for special events, early-morning breakfast establishments, or evening operations
Work environments include commercial kitchens with exposure to equipment and varying temperatures — caution and situational awareness required at all times
Must be able to lift and carry inspection equipment up to 35 lbs
Active role: extended standing and walking, crouching, bending, lifting, and climbing stairs in varied-temperature environments
Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, and color vision
Requires driving to multiple locations within and across municipalities throughout the workweek
